This Cisco AS5400 is an multi-service remote access server provisioned to handle 4T1s and 96 modem/data and voice sessions or 4E1s and 108 ports. Unlike the AS5300 - the AS5400 supports SIP, as well as H323 voice protocols. This high-powered unit is capable when fully expanded of handling up to 16 PRIs, and is priced about the same as an AS5350, and just a little more than an AS5300. The AS5400 has the highest reputation among remote access servers. In additional to handling calls, it incorporates a built-in router and terminal server, and so has everything an ISP needs to provide dialup internet access and VOIP service.
